With Oona in Chicago, September 1952

  1. Wonderful candid shot. You do such good work here!

  2. I'm in love with everything Charlie has done. I don't even hold his very young wives against him. But I do wonder why? What was he drawn to in these young ladies? I wonder if it was his own fear of aging? Maybe his young wives kept him feeling young.

    1. Perhaps. Although I don't believe he was exclusively drawn to young girls. Most of his relationships with were mature women: Paulette, Pola Negri, Edna, Marion Davies, May Reeves, Hedy Lamarr, etc. I'm sure Oona kept him feeling young, plus she was intelligent & mature for her years. More so than Mildred and Lita--and Charlie wouldn't have married them if he didn't have to.

  3. That's very true.. Never thought about it that way. Charlie Chaplin and a shot gun wedding! Regardless I'm in love with the man and even more so with his work. It's timeless.
